The origin of the Great Dane is of great debate. Some says its development started in Germany. Recent investigation reveals that the Great Dane is an ancient breed tracing its foundation back to Denmark as it is historically noted in drawings and writings from the 16th century.
About 100 years ago, breeders began to selectively choose dogs with gentle characters and good temperaments to breed with, thus creating the ‘Gentle Giant’ that we know and love today.

- Great Dane puppies are delicate contrary to their size. From birth Great Dane puppies need special care:
- 1. Take great care NOT to over exercise young Great Danes from 0 to 18 months old.
- 2. Ensure that vaccinations are given carefully — at least 4 weeks separate from the Rabies vaccination.
- 3. Rule of Thumb: five (5) minutes of hard/forced exercise during EACH session for each month of the puppy’s life.

- For example, at age two months old, you can take your puppy for a ten-minute leashed walk.
- 5. Ensure that your young Great Dane is trained at an early age -and- properly socialized.

- For example, attending Obedience training classes.

Our dogs are health checked by our veterinarian before breeding. A lot of time, thought, and energy is put forth to plan and produce a litter of puppies – selecting the correct male who is healthy, well-balanced, and who has a good temperament are all especially important.

Due to biosecurity and safety concerns, I do not allow visitors inside my home. Parvo, distemper, canine influenza, and canine corona viruses are real threats to the health and safety of my dogs. These infectious canine diseases can be carried on humans through clothing and shoes. I have a fenced and gated, secured area for visitors.
Visitors can visit their new puppy once you have secured your new puppy by deposit, and you have signed the Sales Agreement. I will help you choose your puppy based on BEST personality and character that fits your family’s lifestyle.
I expect you to take puppy to puppy (socialization) classes AFTER he or she has completed THREE rounds of puppy vaccinations, and I also expect you to attend and complete Obedience training with your Great Dane.
I strongly recommend that you purchase Pet Health Insurance from the get-go. Veterinary emergencies can cost between $7,500 to $10,000 and up.
